The man known as the father of our country now has a new view of some local schools.

Williston's Masonic Lodge has made donations of portraits of George Washington to schools in Tioga.

The group presented the portrait of the nation's first president to school officials at the Tioga High School this afternoon.

Masons note that Washington , in addition to his important position in our nation's history, was a high official in their organization as well.

(Alvin Wold, Past Grand Master-ND) "It's important for our children today to recognize that this is a very important person and he was also important because he was a mason to us."

The Washington portrait was donated as part of a national project of Masons who want to make sure schools have high-quality artwork of the nation's first president.
